Many Vikings were good sailors because they lived close to rivers. They grew up from childhood able to go fishing. A big Viking longboat is about 30 metres long and were made from overlapping planks of wood. Viking longboats!

The Vikings invaded Britain because their land wasn’t as good as ours to grow crops on. Also because they wanted to be rich, they stole money from our monasteries and killed the monks in them. Why they invaded Britain?

They invaded Greenland, Iceland, Germany, France, America, Netherlands and obviously Britain. Where they invaded!

Vikings’ clothes! Viking clothes were made from wool, linen and animal skins. The Vikings were skilful weavers and made their own clothes. Women, with the help of children, made the wool into yarn and used natural dyes from plants to give it colour. Men wore tunics and trousers and women wore a long dress with a pinafore over it. Their clothes were fastened with belts and brooches.
