By: Selina Spiders My feature spider is the red-knee tarantula.

Looks When I saw the Mexican red/knee.It was when my teacher read a book about tarantulas. Then that’s when I saw the Mexican red/knee.So when my teacher told us that we needed to pick out a spider for are research.I decided to pick the Mexican red/knee.I also wanted to pick the Mexican red/knee because.I liked the color on its knees. The shape of the Mexican red/knee looks like are tarantula but a little bit bigger. The two claws on the tarantula front legs help the tarantula to hang on its prey.My tarantula has big legs to help the tarantula catch its prey.My tarantula has eight vary big eyes to help the tarantula see its prey.Even though the tarantula has big eyes it can't see very well. They grow very slow but can get up to 5.5inches.

Where is it? They live in Mexico rainforests you can find them behind a cactus. The spider came from Mexico and Panama semi-desert scrubland. They are in the southern regions of America. You can find them in dark places like a flower/pot.

Going Hunting? My spider is a hunter, it catches it's prey at night.Sometimes the spider catches it's prey in the morning. My spider doesn’t use camouflage because it will wait for it's prey or it will hunt for it's prey at night. My spider is a hunting spider so it has lots of tricks to get it's prey. It will stay very still until it's prey like a Anole lizard will come up close to the spider then the spider will eat it up.My spider will eat different kinds of insects but I am not sure what kind of insects they eat.Sometimes my spider will eat mice, and lizard. My spider will find a wild mouse then it will sneak up on it's prey then it will jump on the spider's prey and put poison on the spider's prey and turn the prey into liquid.

Other Facts The Mexican red/knee egg's are carefully wrapped in silk. The Mexican red/knee carry's the egg's between the mum's fangs.A mother can have 700 baby spiders a year. MY spider can molt many times before it is an adult.

What is a Spider? A spider has 8 legs and is not part of a insects family.

Parts of a spider 2 body parts 8 eyes cephalothorax abdomen pedipalps one of 8 legs spinnerets

good things about spiders bad things about spiders Spider are good because they don’t let bugs take over the world. If spiders were not made the insects would take over the world.

Spiders make webs to catch their food. They live on there webs. A spider web is like a spider’s house. A spider is like a person because it sometimes moves to a different place. But…I also learned that spiders use their silk to make a egg sac.

These are three facts I learned about spiders: 1.Sometimes spiders can be dangerous. 2.Some spiders can be found in your house. 3.Spiders are good because they eat bugs.

Spiders are awesome.
