Clinical chemistry is one of the most rapidly advancing areas of laboratory.

Clinical Chemistry applies chemical, molecular and cellular techniques to understand and evaluate of human health and disease.

Metabolic changes associated with specific disorders may give rise to a change in the biochemical profile of a particular body fluid, e.g. blood glucose in diabetes mellitus. Glucose levels are greatly reduced in the cerebrospinal fluid in bacterial meningitis.
