PURPOSE To study and analyze the possibility of drainage system Ahmed implementation in surgical treatment of patients with different (refractory) kinds of glaucoma combined with through allokeratoplasty and to prove the efficiency of the developed complex of surgical measures in reconstructive surgery with glaucoma valve Ahmed implantation. a

MATERIAL AND METHODS 10 patients aged from 2 to 60 with the following diagnoses were examined: corneal EED, post- traumatic corneal caligo, corneal dystrophy, transplant disease (after previous ceratoplasty) combined with secondary refractory glaucoma. The patients have been observed after the surgery for 12 months. 10 patients experienced surgery with glaucoma valve Ahmed implantation combined with through keratoplasty.

RESULTS None of the given patients despite the complexity of the operations experienced inflammatory reaction in the post-surgical period. In all cases we have observed engraftment and steady decrease in IOP-level, i.e hg mm.

CONCLUSION Glaucoma valve Ahmed implantation combined with through keratoplasty leads to steady hypotensive effect, provides reduction of pre- and post-surgical complications, increases the possibility of transparent engraftment combined with through allokeratoplasty and can be recommended to be used in reconstructive surgery as an alternative method to solve the problem of secondary glaucoma.
