Revisions to Survey & Expanded Questions 10 EMPLOYMENT:  Did you work within 1 year of leaving high school? Yes or No  Where were you working?  Did you work at least 90 days?  How many hours a week did you work on average? EDUCATION/TRAINING:  Did you attend any type of school or training program within 1 year of leaving high school?  What type of school or training program did you attend?  Were you enrolled full-time or part-time?  Were you enrolled for at least one complete term?

Guiding Definitions for Interviewers 11 Higher Education: A student enrolled in a 2 or 4-year degreed program  The degreed program is provided by a 2-year community/technical college or  The degreed program is provided by a 4-year college/university Other Postsecondary Training: May include but is not limited to:  Compensatory education programs  High school completion or certificate (ABE, GED)  Short-term education or employment training program  Voc/tech school less than a two-year program  Adult Education

Guiding Definitions for Interviewers 12 Competitive employment:  Work for pay at or above the minimum wage  In a setting with others who are nondisabled  For a period of at least 20 hours a week  For at least 90 days at any time in the year since leaving high school. Other employment:  Work for pay or self-employment  For at least 90 days at any time in the year since high school  Includes working in a family business

The Definitions of "at least 90 days since leaving high school" 13 Either  90 cumulative days, or  3 months of continuous work  In either case above  Average at least 20 hours per week  The days need not be consecutive  May include more than one job
