Polar Bears By Samara Mcglynn

Introduction Hi I am a polar bear. Flip through my pages and learn a lot about me. There are some funny things so I hope you enjoy it.

Physical Appearance Have you seen a bear with sharp claws and sharp teeth? … I am very scary. I have a layer of hairs that repels water from my body.

Habitat In the Arctic my home is in the snow. It is called a den and it is very deep in the snow. My home is very close to the water. The water is icy and it is very cold.

Birth and Babies When I am ready to give birth I stay in my den for a few days while my husband goes and catches food for our family. When our baby cub is ready to learn how to protect itself, we teach her how to swim and fight.

Survival and Adaptations Hi everybody! Want to learn how I can camouflage? My white skin blends in with the snow because if I do not… well I get eaten! Believe it or not people hunt me because they use my fur for mats and blankets and they use my teeth to put them in a museums.

Food and Hunting I go to the sea and I try to catch fish or seal but my favorite food is seal blubber. After I go home to my family we eat it. We eat it with our claws and teeth. We live on an iceberg, it’s like a table.

Conclusion I hope I entertained you while you learned about me. Please turn off any electronics when you are not using them. Global warning may be melting the habitat here. We depend on you guys. By now I am endangered. hopefully I’ll see you again.
