What do I need to show in my answers, to meet the correct academic level?

Work with others under direct supervision, but with a very limited degree of discretion and judgment about possible action. At LEVEL 1, students should be able to: What’s in each level? Employ a narrow range of applied knowledge, skills and basic comprehension within a limited range of predictable and structured contexts.

Undertake directed activities, with a degree of autonomy, within time constraints. At LEVEL 2, students should be able to: What’s in each level? Apply knowledge with underpinning comprehension in a number of areas and employ a range of skills within a number of contexts, some of which may be non-routine.

Access and analyse information independently and make reasoned judgements, selecting from a considerable choice of procedures, in familiar and unfamiliar contexts. At LEVEL 3, students should be able to: What’s in each level? Apply knowledge and skills in a range of complex activities demonstrating comprehension of relevant theories. Direct own activities, with some responsibility for the output of others.

Exercise time: How can I know that you understand something, rather than just remember it?

Statements and Descriptions: What’s the difference? ?

Statements and Descriptions: State the function of traffic lights

Statements and Descriptions: Describe the function of traffic lights

Statements and Descriptions: Or, if you prefer something more relevant to electrical installation:

Statements and Descriptions: Describe the action of a fuse during a fault

Exercise time: Please attempt the exercise tasks to become more familiar with the different academic levels
