Make sure it’s not foodborne illness!

Safe Food Preparation Wash your hands and forearms with warm, running water and soap for at least 20 seconds before handling food. Keep raw foods away from ready-to-eat foods. Cook foods thoroughly using a food thermometer to determine doneness. Keep cold foods cold.

Safe Holiday Buffets Keep cold foods cold. –Nest small bowls in large bowls of ice. –Prepare several smaller bowls of a food instead of one big bowl and bring from refrigerator to table as needed.

Safe Holiday Buffets Keep hot foods hot. –Use warming trays, crock pots, sterno cans, etc. –Keep hot foods at 140°F or hotter for serving. –Use a food thermometer to check the temperature.
