 Standard form: 804,932,008  *Each group of three digits is called a period and is separated by a comma  Word form: eight hundred four million, nine hundred thirty-two thousand, eight  *When you get to the comma, say the period  *  Expanded form: 8 x 100,000, x 4,000, x 100, x 10, x 1,  *Split up the number using place value. For example, an 8 in the hundred millions place equals 8 x 100,000,000.

You can line up the numbers to compare Example:76,552 Ο 76,852  76,552  76,852 5 < 8 so  76,552 < 76,852
