What is Auto Attach, what does it solve, what changes to LLDP ? Standards based IETF and IEEE

Our JDA and Auto Attach submission to openvswitch.org for the 2.4 release. Distributed LLDP in OVS with AA extensions provide scalability and resiliency.

ODL Proposal : Distributed LLDP with Auto Attach Capability Provides a service within ODL to configure switches, e.g., Open vSwitch, to locally run LLDP with the IEEE Auto Attach extensions Listens for network creation calls (e.g., OpenStack neutron) and will optionally create/extend a Virtual Service Network / 802.1ah ISID on an upstream switch. Configure vSwitches on hypervisors to attach virtual machines to these ISIDs
