Presentation transcript:

When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, "Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?" (Matt. 16:13)

So they said, "Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets." (Matthew 16:14)

"And the Lord said to me: 'What they have spoken is good. I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My name, I will require it of him.'" (Deuteronomy 18:17-19)

Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse." (Malachi 4:5-6)

Now King Herod heard of Him, for His name had become well known. And he said, "John the Baptist is risen from the dead, and therefore these powers are at work in him." Others said, "It is Elijah." And others said, "It is the Prophet, or like one of the prophets." But when Herod heard, he said, "This is John, whom I beheaded; he has been raised from the dead!" (Mark 6:14-16)

He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:15- 16)

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16)

One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, "We have found the Messiah" (which is translated, the Christ). (John 1:40-41)

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. (Matthew 3:16)

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor;

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) "He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord." (Luke 4:17-19)

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) But Jesus answered them, "My Father has been working until now, and I have been working." Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God. (John 5:17-18)

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, saying, "What do you think about the Christ? Whose Son is He?" They said to Him, "The Son of David."

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) He said to them, "How then does David in the Spirit call Him 'Lord,' saying: 'The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool" '?

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) "If David then calls Him 'Lord,' how is He his Son?" And no one was able to answer Him a word, nor from that day on did anyone dare question Him anymore. (Matthew 22:41-46)

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) Therefore concerning the eating of things offered to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one.

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords), yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live. (1 Corinthians 8:4-6)

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. For to which of the angels did He ever say: "You are My Son, Today I have begotten You"? And again: "I will be to Him a Father, And He shall be to Me a Son"?

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says: "Let all the angels of God worship Him." And of the angels He says: "Who makes His angels spirits And His ministers a flame of fire."

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) But to the Son He says: "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your Kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions."

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) And: "You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands. They will perish, but You remain; And they will all grow old like a garment; Like a cloak You will fold them up, And they will be changed. But You are the same, And Your years will not fail." (Hebrews 1:1-12)

And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." (Matthew 3:16-17)

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:1, 14)

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) "But why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do the things which I say?" (Luke 6:46)

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate,

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ's appearing, which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords,

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen. (1 Timothy 6:12-16)

Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16) For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day. (2 Tim. 1:12)
