Paintings The Vitruvan Man The Last Supper Leonardo da Vinci painted many paintings in his life. Most of them turned out to be very famous. His most famous paintings are The Mona Lisa, The Last Supper , and The Vitruvian Man. The Mona Lisa The Vitruvan Man The Last Supper

Self- Portraits Leonardo is said to look like many different people. Here is what he made of what people think is him.

People that knew Leonardo Michelangelo Buonarroti Michelangelo knew Leonardo when he was a kid. Leonardo was 50 when Michelangelo was 8. There are many stories about how rude Michelangelo was to Leonardo. People say he also stole many of Leonardo’s notebooks. Raphael Raphael was an architect near the end of Leonardo’s life. Raphael was also a musician and played the violin. Raphael had many different descriptions. He is said to have long hair, or short hair and a beard. Raphael also created the painting “The Last Supper.”

Inventions The Triangular parachute was one of Leonardo’s great ideas. He thought it would make someone land softer. In 2005 experts tried it out. It worked! The Armored car was another great idea Leonardo had. It would’ve been a modern-day tank. His idea was to protect the car by arming it with bamboo. The Glider Leonardo designed would not have flown. It was too heavy, and the wings were too light. Therefore it would have fallen 3.9 seconds after it took off. The human wings have been a popular idea since Leonardo thought of it. They were made up of bird feathers and twigs. He tried it by jumping of a 35 ft. building and broke his leg.

Death of Leonardo In 1516 Leonardo was asked to live in France by Francis I, king of England. Leonardo lost the use of his right hand when he moved. He spent his last years organizing papers. On May 2nd, 1519 he died. Many people thought he died in Francis I’s arms. Many people now think Francis was away when he died. Today, no one knows where his body is.

The real da Vinci code On December 13, 2010 scientists found many small numbers and letters in Mona Lisa’s eyes. They think Leonardo might have hidden messages in other paintings as well. He hid a L and D in her right eye, and a C or a D in her left. There seems to be a Z, 7, another L, and a P in the background. Also, there is a bridge in the back with a word. These markings are not visible to the naked eye.
