COLLEGE READY ? SJVA Scholarship Opportunity to Promote College Readiness Are you college ready ? What can you do to prepare for college ? What are you doing to be college ready ? Available to all K-12 SJVA Students! All entries must be submitted to the Counseling Department by Friday, January 17, 2014 Three Scholarships will be awarded in each category: 1 st place: $100 2 nd place: $50 3 rd place: $25 Total of 3 - $100 scholarships, 3 - $50 scholarships, and 3 - $25 scholarships will be given Rules and entry details on back side or visit (under academics – counseling - SJVA scholarship tab) 3 different categories: video, t- shirt, pennant Each student is limited to 1 entry per category

Rules for Video Entry To enter the scholarship contest you must agree to these official rules. Submission of any entry constitutes an agreement to these rules. Eligibility – This is a student video contest; only student-produced videos are eligible. Students must be currently enrolled K-12 at San Jacinto Valley Academy (SJVA) during the school year. The video must be suitable for school and general public viewing audience. The student is required to submit the video to the SJVA Counseling Department by the submission deadline. The submission allows SJVA the right to post your submission video on to the SJVA website and other sources of online media. One video submission allowed per student. Entries that are not suitable for student or public viewing will be disqualified. Submission Format – Each video must be received by either an attachment or hard copy. Entries are to be a minimum of 60 seconds to a maximum of 3 minutes in length. An attached entry form must be submitted with each student video submission. A visual image or a verbal statement of the following must be included in the video: “San Jacinto Valley Academy”, and “College Ready?” Scholarships to be awarded: 1 st place: $100 2 nd place: $50 3 rd place: $25 Judging panel – The judging panel will be composed of the following: Administrator, Board Member, Teacher, Classified Staff Member The judging panel will review and score the entries to determine the first, second, and third place winners. The winners will be notified and recognized for their achievements. If the Counseling Department receives more than the expected amount of submissions we may divide the submissions by school level (elementary, middle, high). Rules for Pennant Entry To enter the scholarship contest you must agree to these official rules. Submission of any entry constitutes an agreement to these rules. Eligibility – This is a student pennant contest; only student-produced pennants are eligible. Students must be current enrolled K-12 at San Jacinto Valley Academy (SJVA) during the school year. The pennant must be suitable for school and general public viewing audience. The student is required to submit the pennant to the SJVA Counseling Department by the submission deadline. The submission allows SJVA the right to post your submission pennant on the SJVA campus. One pennant submission allowed per student. Entries that are not suitable for student or public viewing will be disqualified. Submission Format – The Counseling Department will have a plain white paper pennant available for all participants (paint or markers). One will be available to each student who plans on submitting to the contest. Each hard copy pennant must be received by the Counseling Department by the submission deadline. An attached entry form must be submitted with each student pennant submission. All of the following must be included on the pennant: “San Jacinto Valley Academy”, “K-12 College Prep Charter School”, and “IB World School“. Scholarships to be awarded: 1 st place: $100 2 nd place: $50 3 rd place: $25 Judging panel – The judging panel will be composed of the following: Administrator, Board Member, Teacher, Classified Staff Member The judging panel will review and score the entries to determine the first, second, and third place winners. The winners will be notified and recognized for their achievements. If the Counseling Department receives more than the expected amount of submissions we may divide the submissions by school level (elementary, middle, high). Rules for T-Shirt Design Entry To enter the scholarship contest you must agree to these official rules. Submission of any entry constitutes an agreement to these rules. Eligibility – This is a student t-shirt design contest; only student-produced t-shirt designs are eligible. Students must be currently enrolled K-12 at San Jacinto Valley Academy (SJVA) during the school year. The t-shirt must be suitable for school and general public viewing audience. The student is required to submit the t-shirt design to the SJVA Counseling Department by the submission deadline. The submission allows SJVA the right to produce and sell your t-shirt idea submission. One t-shirt design submission allowed per student. Entries that are not suitable for student or public viewing will be disqualified. Submission Format – Each t-shirt idea must be received by either an attachment or hard copy. Entry ideas must be created for a t-shirt (short-sleeve with no pockets). An attached entry form must be submitted with each student t-Shirt submission. All of the following must be included on the t-shirt: “San Jacinto Valley Academy” and “College Ready?” Scholarships to be awarded: 1 st place: $100 2 nd place: $50 3 rd place: $25 Judging panel - The judging panel will be composed of the following: Administrator, Board Member, Teacher, Classified Staff Member The judging panel will review and score the entries to determine the first, second, and third place winners. The winners will be notified and recognized for their achievements.
