Responsibilities 4 sections Spanish II Honors Spanish Honor Society World Language Department Chairperson FSU BA Spanish FSU MA Foreign Language Education Parent of 2 Maclay graduates, Michael and Melissa 4 grandchildren, oldest in PreK 4

Class expectations I hope all my students will develop a love for Spanish and an understanding for the variety of heritage that makes up the Hispanic Culture This class is student centered. We are always busy. Students are expected to come to class prepared and to be engaged all period. I would like to hear each student speak Spanish everyday.

Grading 15% class work/ oral participation 15% homework 30% quizzes 40% tests/projects 10% vocabulary questspesos are good!

Homework No credit will be given for doing the wrong assignments, or work that is obviously incorrect or not the work assigned. Supersites will be due by class on the day due and will usually be graded for accuracy. Go to for activities

Spanish Honor Society Los Picaros The purpose of the Spanish Honor Society is to recognize high achievement in Spanish by students of secondary schools, and to promote a continuity of interest in Hispanic Culture. Eligible students must have maintained an average of A- or higher in their Spanish classes for 3 consecutive semesters. Meetings are held the 4 th Tuesday of each month and special holidays are celebrated.

Essential Questions 1. Why study Spanish? 2. Why learn about “culture” and what is it? 3. Why conjugate verbs? We begin the year with a review of Spanish 1 and try to combine students from different backgrounds. Essential questions through out the year will be more content related.
