Controls a television receiver – User can select broadcasted TV program from scheduled program information Second function – VCR can record the selected program while the user is away

Controls a television receiver – User can select broadcasted TV program from scheduled program information FM receiver – picks up the program schedule information Signal is sent through a decoder Signal demodulated – before entering into data processor remote control transmitter-receiver combination – gives the user the ability to make selections – relays user inputs to the data processor.

Data processor – uses remote control information to select the correct programs from the program schedule information – stores the signal for the selected programs, and is used to control a programmable TV tuner TV tuner – Sends television broadcasting signal for the selected program information to the television at the time of broadcast

FIG. 1 is a Frequency Modulation Transmitter, used for supplying TV schedule information as an FM broadcast. This transmitter allows the necessary schedule information to be broadcasted independently of the television broadcasts.

FIG. 3 is a block diagram of the receiver and television control system for use with the transmitter of FIG. 1.
