Creating a Model Lesson

“Ensuring bright and prosperous futures for all students by deliberately and intentionally providing Rigorous and Relevant instruction in every classroom, everyday.” Read closely Determine central ideas or themes of a text and analyze their development Historical Perspectives Summarize Real-life Connections Interpret words and phrases Critical Thinking Skills Creativity Analyze the structure of texts Primary and Secondary Sources Evaluate content presented in diverse formats and media Compare and contrast Engage effectively in a range of collaborative discussions

PLANNING A LESSON – PD REQUIREMENTS All teachers are asked to plan a lesson for the first 6 weeks using the essential standards curriculum maps. This is intended to be something you will implement in your classroom. Please pick up wherever you have left off planning – whether it is the first day of instruction or the 10 th … makes no difference. Work in groups where possible. Use the template provided and turn into your principal by Friday afternoon. He or she will forward to us for feedback. Template is located on the Math and Science PD link on Secondary Sites. This will enable teachers to receive a full day of staff development credit with completed assignment.
