A quick reminder on long division First IN line goes IN the house. This is the DIVIDEND. Last is locked out. This is your DIVISOR. He does all the work.

I work really hard! 0

Remember, the divisor is the guy who does all the work. The person who bakes is the bakER, The person who runs is the runnER, The person who does division is the divisOR. The person who does a particular activity will end with ER or OR. Can anyone think of other examples?

The divisor cannot do his work until he is made whole (a whole number). We move his decimal place until he is whole. In this case two spaces. Math is fair, whatever we do for one, we must do for the other. So, move the dividend’s decimal point two spaces too. REALLY, what you are doing is multiplying each by

RULES 1.Change divisor to a whole number by moving the decimal point 2.How ever many spaces moved on the divisor, do the same for the dividend 1.Place the new decimal on top of the house and divide.
