By “The Amazing Kyle” And “Super Sarah”

“To Laugh often and much… this is to have succeeded.” Although many people believe that in order to succeed you must be famous or rich, happiness is to have succeeded. Like in this picture, the father believes to have succeeded in life because he lives for not only his daughter, but his family. To him that brings true happiness.

“The only way to have a friend is to be one.” This quote relates back to the ‘Golden Rule’. Due unto others, as you would want them to due unto you. This means to treat others as though you would want to be treated. As you can tell in the picture, both dogs are getting along and keeping warm.

“What is a weed? A plant whose virtues have not been discovered.” Many would believe that this was a beautiful flower, in reality this is a beautiful weed. This weed is like people. Not all people have to be beautiful on the outside to be beautiful on the inside or even have beautiful talents. Everyone has talents, just like this weed has a unique talent of being beautiful.

“The reward of a thing well done is to have done it.” To have done a great thing, such as winning the World Cup, is just great because they got to go to and play in the final game.

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us.” This quote means that nothing matters except our character. Our character is what makes us who we are.

“We boil at different degrees” Ghandi is a perfect example of this quote because he believed in solving problems without hatred. He believed that people could control their anger and solve problems peacefully. This quote is true because some people can control their anger and be patient, others on the other hand can “explode” over tiny things.

“To different minds, the same world is a hell, and a heaven.” Teddy Roosevelt saw this in the time of his presidency. He noticed how the times were very two sided. The rich were at the peak of their power and loving it. On the other hand the poor were suffering.

Howard Hughes was an eccentric person. His obsessions consumed him. Sometimes when someone is obsessed with something it takes over them. The go crazy and lose touch with reality. “We are the prisoners of ideas.”

“As soon as there is life there is danger.” Jesus is a perfect example of this because when he was born he knew that he had to die for the world. This relates to others because the world is a dangerous place to live in, no matter how old or young.

“Imitation is suicide.” This is a true statement because so many girls want to be skinny like models that they become bulimic or anorexic, which is extremely unhealthy. They are basically committing physical suicide. This quote means that if you aren’t your own person you are committing suicide to your personality. An original is always better than a copy.

“All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.” Thomas Edison was a famous scientist who attempted to create “light” 10,000 times. Of course, the last time he succeeded. This is how life is, it is an experiment and we learn from our mistakes. Just like Thomas Edison learned from his experiments that did not succeed.

“No one can cheat you out of ultimate success but yourself.” This relates to Brittney Spears. She had everything going for her until she did this! NO!!!

“We acquire the strength we have overcome.” Bob Woodruff is a person who has obtained an incredible amount of strength over the last year of his life. He is a journalist from ABC who was caught in a near death experience in Iraq. While he was recovering he talked to soldiers, who were also in the hospital recovering, about their stories.

“The man who can make hard things easy is the educator.” A perfect example of an educator is Coach Gerik! He is an incredible teacher who is basically a genius at math. This quote means that anyone who can teach others to lighten the burden on themselves or others is an educator. Anyone can be an educator.

“Things do not change; we change.” People must adapt to their world. For example when something unexpected happens you cannot just wait around until things get better you have to adapt. Like chameleons adapt to their surroundings to survive.

“It is never to late to give up out prejudices.” This means that no matter how old or young you are, you can still give up hatred. There is never a point in life that it is too late to be nice and to accept others for who they are.

“What people say you cannot do, you try and find that you can.” Lance Armstrong proved everyone wrong after they said he would never be able to win any race again. He won seven Tour de France in a row after a remarkable recovery from cancer. This quote means to prove those who say you can’t wrong, just like Lance Armstrong did.

“Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth.” This quote relates to almost any person who has tried to make a difference in the world. For example Martin Luther King, Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln, and many more. These are all people who tried to change things for the good, not for fame or glory but because it was what was right and needed to be done.

“Goodness is the only investment that never fails.” This quote is about friends. If you have someone’s back, they will have yours. If your nice to someone and do something good for them, they’ll be sure to return the favor.

“Finish each day and be done with it.” This quote means to not rely on the past, but to focus on the present and future. If a day you had was rough and hard, go home and go to sleep because when you wake up the next morning it will be a new day.
