SAMPLING FOR –SALMONELLA –EB (ENTEROBACTERIACEAE) HOW OFTEN –VALIDATION –APPROVAL 1 per month or 25% batches (whichever is the least) Quarterly sampling by Animal Health Approved lab RECORDS OF –NAME AND ADDRESS OF PREMISES OF ORIGIN –DATE OF SAMPLING –DESCRIPTION AND IDENTITY OF SAMPLE –RESULTS OF TESTS

SAMPLING If wrong results –Notify us –Detain batches –Retreated under AH supervision, we will re-sample and re-test or –Consigned for processing or incinerated

USES Products: gas (methane)/digestate (spread) Placing digestate in the market: either labelled or with documents which refer to Regulation 12, pasture land –Pasture land is land that is intended to be used for grazing or cropping for feedingstuffs following the application or deposit of organic fertilizers and soil improvers (other than manure or digestive tract content) within the following periods Two months in the case of pigs 3 weeks in the case of other farming animals

APPROVAL PROCESS Does my plant need to be approved? It depends on material to be treated –If only manure and/or digestive tract content without digestive tract: no approval needed –If mixed with other materials: approval needed (milk, colostrum, own, others?)

APPROVAL Submit application form Discussion and visit by VO Temporary approval issued –Initial validation 4 consecutive samples Digestate not released To approved labs –Positive release Letter by VO authorising release of digestate Destinations: non-pasture land or disposal Records of batch id and location to be kept –3 months of consecutive sampling needed: 4 samples by AH (1 of them in initial validation), tested by VLA Full approval (for 2 years) –Visits by AHO/VO
