Dragons The Chinese call themselves Descendants of the Dragon. The Chinese worship dragons. The emperors wore dragons on the back of their robes. The Chinese dragon Lung symbolizes power, excellence, valiancy, boldness, heroism, perseverance, nobility, and divinity. The dragons were able to live in the sea and fly up to the heavens. They could also coil up into a mountain.

Qin [ The First Emperor] Qin was an evil emperor. Qin also developed laws for China. Qins original name was Ch’in and that is how China got its name. Qin conquered China. Qin burned all the books in China. He built the Great Wall of China.

Dynasties A dynasty is a ruling family that passes the country on to their son. The Shang was the first dynasty. The Zhou conquered the Shang and they ruled from 1122 B.C. to 253 B.C.

The Great Wall of China In Chinese the wall is called “ Wan-Li- Qing” which means 5,000 kilometers. It stretches across the mountains of northern China, of Beijing. The wall was built at the end of the 14 th century and ended at the beginning of the 17 th century. Scientists have found more of the wall so it makes it 50 miles longer.
