County Priorities: Veterans’ Affairs Facilities and Health Care Active engagement with Congressional Offices and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs leads to successful campaign supporting French Camp site for new clinic and long-term care facility Implementation of Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) continues despite opposition in Congress Medicaid and Medicare funding targeted for reductions by members of the Super Committee Health Information Technology continues to be a high priority for DHHS Reimbursement for Emergency Medical Care for Undocumented Persons

County Priorities: Airport, Transportation and Public Safety Advocacy for long-term reauthorization of the FAA Reauthorization of the Highway bill for 2 – 6 years and new funding sources for the Highway Trust Fund Submission of Priority Items to Congressional Delegation for the transportation reauthorization bill Advocacy for additional infrastructure funding in proposed American Jobs Act, including a National Infrastructure Bank Additional funding for interoperable communications Funding for juvenile justice facilities
