Niels Bohr Electrons move in energy levels. Lower energy levels are near the nucleus. Higher energy levels are farther from the nucleus.

Valence Electrons Valence electrons are electrons that are found in the outer most energy level. How many valence electrons do each of these atoms have?

Objectives: Today we are going to learn to make Bohr diagrams to find the number of valence electrons of an atom. Tomorrow you will be able to practice drawing these diagrams. Open the bright atom boxes. Give one plate to your partner and keep one for yourself.
