Credit Card Fraud Credit card fraud refers to the use of a credit card by someone other than its rightful owner or an authorized buyer on the account. Identity theft means pretending to be another person and using that individual's personal information to get credit and identifying documents like a driver's license, according to the Federal Trade Commission.

TIPS TO AVOID CREDIT CARD FRAUD i. Keep your credit card safe ii. Shred all documents with your credit card details on it iii. Don’t sign blank credit card receipts iv. Be cautious when using your credit card online v. Immediately report lost or stolen credit cards.

Tips to online shopping  Shop around.There might be another great deal somewhere  Make sure you know the trader’s full details.Those details can be used as backup information if you need to lodge a fraud report  Double-check whether the company has a privacy statement that tells you what they will do with your personal information
