Mythology The body of myths belonging to a culture. Myths are traditional stories about gods and heroes. Myths often account for the basic aspects of existence explaining, for instance, how the Earth was created, why people have to die, or why the year is divided into seasons. Myths of the ancient Greeks and Romans have had an enormous influence on European and American culture.

INDEPENDENT READING ASSIGNMENT You will check out the literature anthology, Explorations in Literature. During the month of September you will read the Mythology Unit, Some will be read on Fridays in class and the rest will be read at home. This week read Notes page is to help you stay focused and remember the main ideas. Quiz next Friday
