Attitudes attitude The posture of one’s mind bears directly on his words and actions. A person’s outlook decides and adjusts his behavior. That which is one’s disposition is what we call attitude. (Examples: Arrogant, Negative attitudes.)

A Complaining Attitude “Do all things without complaining and disputing, 15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, 16 holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.” (Phil. 2:14-16)

A Selfish Attitude “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” (Phil. 2:3-4)

A Fault-Finding Attitude “And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.” (Matt. 7:3-5).

A Forgiving Attitude “And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you.” (Eph. 4:32) "For if you forgive men their tres- passes, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” (Mat. 6:14-15).

A Humble Attitude “For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.” (Rom. 12:3) Ex: Saul started out “little” in his own eyes, (cf. 1 Sam. 15:17), but became arrogant.

A Willing Attitude “For if there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what one has, and not according to what he does not have.” (2 Cor. 8:12) Ex: Giving of Israelites to build the tabernacle (Ex. 35). They gave so much Moses have to give instructions for them to stop! (cf. Ex. 36:5-6).

Conclusion BAD GOOD We must candidly examine our attitudes… If they are BAD, let us change them… If they are GOOD, we must cling to them. “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he…” (Proverbs 23:7)
