Leader in Base Oil Technology Our Difference? The HT Purity process gives us 99.9% pure base oils. 70-85% Pure Competitive Solvent Refining Petro-Canada Hydrocracking/HydroIsomerization Petro-Canada Severe Hydrocracking Group I Solvent Refined Group II Group III Synthetic MILD HYDRO- TREATING SOLVENT EXTRACTION SEVERE CRACKING HIGH PRESSURE HYDRO ISOMERIZATION ATMOSPHERIC / VACUUM DISTILLATION 99.9% Pure Key Message: Our difference -- the HT Purity Process that produces 99.9% pure base oils 1) PC was a pioneer in the development of this type of Base Oil technology 2) Older Base Oil technologies retain impurities that hinder finished product performance 3) The HT Purity process removes these impurities which result in our Purity Base oils having improved long life, better low temperature properties & superior environmental benefits. Your equipment is protected longer and better reducing downtime and reducing operating costs. Petro-Canada Lubricants produces world-class products that are environmentally friendly and 99.9% pure. We utilize best-in-class technology with our processing units, which differentiate us from competitors that use conventional technology. Conventional Lubricant plants use Solvent Refining technology to produce products that are only 70-85% pure. For Petro-Canada Lubricants, we have 2 main types of best-in-class processing units. The first type is Petro-Canada's Severe Hydrocracking Unit, which chemically converts and treats the crude-based feedstock with hydrogen under high temperature and high pressure with the help of catalysts to produce base stocks that are highly pure. Included in this HT unit is a Solvent Dewaxing filtration process to remove the wax by-product. This HT unit produces White Oil products, which are extremely pure quality, "water-white" lubricants that meet stringent food-grade and pharmaceutical grade specifications. The second type of unit that we have is Petro-Canada's Hydroisomerization Unit, also known as our Catalytic Dewaxing Unit (CDW). This unit also chemically converts and treats the better quality crude-based feedstock with hydrogen and catalysts to produce basestocks that are extremely high quality. The key difference is that this unit catalytically converts the waxy components of the feed, as opposed to mechanical filtration in our HT unit, which results in very high efficiency and extremely high quality lubricants. These lubricants have very strong stability properties, which are increasing in demand across world-wide customers. Many world-wide customers are using these higher quality base stocks as their standard within their next generation products, while conventional base stocks have been decreasing in demand over time. Our best-in-class operating units and technology combined with our world-class lubricant products ensures that we are well positioned for growth and success into the future. Dated base oil technologies retain impurities that hinder finished product performance. Our HT Purity process removes these impurities which result in our PURITYTM base oils having improved oxidation stability, better low temperature fluidity, and superior environmental benefits

INTRODUCING A SOLUTION WITHOUT COMPROMISE

Introducing DURON-E UHP 5W-30 It all starts with Petro-Canada’s 99.9% pure base oils – among the purest in the world. Start Pure. Finish Strong. DURON-E UHP 5W-30 starts with Petro-Canada’s 99.9% pure base oils, one of the purest in the world. Formulated with synthetic base oils and high performance additives, DURON-E UHP 5W-30’s unique formulation delivers lubricant performance that is beyond today’s standards. DURON-E UHP 5W-30 will be available across Europe and North America as of November 2014. Like many of Petro-Canada Lubricant’s advanced products, DURON starts with 99.9% pure base oils The low volatility of the pure base oil used in DURON helps to keep top-ups to a minimum by decreasing vaporisation so that less oil is lost The 99.9% pure base oils also maintain their fresh oil properties longer, providing better resistance to oxidative thickening And since engines can stay cleaner longer, it allows fleets to safely extend drain intervals without the risk of increased engine wear and sluggish performance

Introducing DURON-E UHP 5W-30 Petro-Canada’s new DURON-E UHP 5W-30 is a solution without compromise delivering both engine protection and fuel economy. Designed for durability to keep fleets moving and efficient. Up to 2x* better wear protection Extended drain capability exceeding that of a 15W40 Proven fuel savings to keep fleets profitable Up to 4%** better fuel economy * Based on results from the Daimler OM 646LA piston cleanliness test ** Fuel economy results are based on the generally accepted and industry recognized SAE J1321 Type II fuel consumption test. Comparison of fuel economy is relative to DURON-E 15W-40, and in combination with TRAXON Synthetic 75W-90 (relative to TRAXON 85W-140) gear oil. Actual results are dependent on external factors including, but not limited to: driving terrain, weather conditions, tire pressure and severity of operating conditions.

Introducing DURON-E UHP 5W-30 Fuel economy savings with no compromise on engine protection. Ultra High Performing Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Oil that exceeds latest standards for European (ACEA E6/E7/E9) and North American (API CJ-4) on road trucks, as well as major OEM specifications DURON-E UHP 5W-30 in combination with our TRAXON Synthetic 75W-90 gear oil delivers up to 4% fuel savings Proven durability in a lower viscosity 5W-30 HDEO as demonstrated in both laboratory and field testing. Takes the fear out of switching to a 5W-30 oil Proven extended drain capabilities without compromising the protection and performance of your engine Demonstrates best-in-class all-weather performance

Fuel Efficient Product Family DURON-E UHP 5W-30 joins the DURON fuel efficient product family and offers better engine protection and fuel economy.

Designed for Engine Protection DURON-E UHP 5W-30 has superior wear protection and stay in grade capabilities resulting in improved engine protection. Highly shear stable formulation with minimal change to viscosity resulting in better stay in grade capabilities and in turn better engine protection. Better volatility characteristics resulting in less top ups, less fouling of emissions systems and better retention of fresh oil properties throughout the drain interval. All this means better engine protection.

Designed for Engine Protection DURON-E UHP 5W-30 delivers best in class cold temperature performance. Cold Crank Viscosity measures ease of starting in low temperatures. Lower cranking resistance means faster, easier starting, which helps protect your starter and battery. The low temperature pumpability test measures how easily the oil flows through the engine after start-up in low temperatures. The lower the number, the less resistance there is to oil flow. Faster oil flow reduces start-up wear and enhances engine durability.

Designed for Engine Protection DURON-E UHP 5W-30 delivers superior engine wear protection This engine test measures how well the engine oil prevents wear in severe operating conditions More than double the piston wear protection versus MB specification

Designed for Engine Protection DURON-E UHP 5W-30 delivers superior engine wear protection The OM 646 LA engine test measures how well the engine oil prevents wear in severe operating conditions Delivers superior cylinder and main bearing protection in severe operating conditions

Designed for Engine Protection 17 Designed for Engine Protection In real world trials hauling 140,000 Ibs loads, DURON-E UHP 5W-30 demonstrates superior durability and extended drains. DURON-E UHP 5W-30 demonstrates extended drain potential (surpassing DURON-E 15W-40). Expected TBN/TAN to converge past 100,000 km.

Designed for Engine Protection 18 Designed for Engine Protection In real world trials hauling 140,000 Ibs loads, DURON-E UHP 5W-30 delivers even better engine protection than a 15W-40 engine oil.

What Makes a fuel efficient engine oil? Proven Fuel Savings What Makes a fuel efficient engine oil? DURON-E UHP 5W-30 has the lowest HTHS value (3.5 cP) allowed to meet ACEA and CJ-4 specs, and major OEM credentials. The industry recognized correlation to fuel economy (FE) is an engine oil’s High Temperature High Shear (HTHS) value. The lower the value the greater the FE. Other factors can influence FE such as viscosity modifiers, friction modifiers, and ash level of the performance additive. Petro-Canada has conducted the industry recognized SAE J1321 Type II fuel consumption test to demonstrate FE savings, as well as the Volvo D12D engine test stand method. The key concern with lowering engine oil viscosity is maintaining engine protection.

Proven Fuel Savings Rigorous Testing. Reliable Results. DURON-E UHP 5W-30 delivers up to 4% fuel economy. DURON-E UHP 5W-30 was put through one of the toughest industry recognized fuel consumption tests - SAE J1321 Type II. Meticulously corrected for even the smallest variable – from weather conditions to wheel alignment – it ensures you get the most accurate results possible. Sample of some of the tough test parameters: Consistent positioning of all components with an aerodynamic influence Lap times restricted to within 0.25% of established target
