What is the theme question? Name the three theme vocabulary words and their meanings?

 Synonyms are words that have similar or the same meaning as other words. Using synonyms helps readers relate new words to other words they might already know.  Typical  Embrace  Attempt  Joy  Rage  Spy  Confess

 An author’s purpose is the reasons for writing, such as to persuade, inform, entertain, or express ideas.  An author does not usually state a purpose for writing. Readers must use clues in the text to figure out the important ideas. Look through the theme reader to identify clues.  What does the author want you to learn?  Why did the author write this?  What clues help you determine the author’s purpose?

 A suffix is a word part that is added to the end of a base word. Suffixes can be added to many words to form adjectives, or words that describe nouns.
