Nonnewaug High School Athletic Department Family ID FamilyID is a secure registration platform that provides you with an easy, user-friendly way to register for our programs, and helps us to be more administratively efficient and environmentally responsible. When you register through FamilyID, the system keeps track of your information in your FamilyID profile so you enter your information only once for multiple uses, multiple family members and multiple programs. All registration will be done online during the “open registration” period. Athletes will not be allowed to play or practice until all information has been completed in the registration process.

When is it best time to contact a coach? Make an appointment to speak to them. Most Coaches prepare their practice times to the minute. Please respect their time and privacy. Parents may schedule an appointment with the coach or contact the athletic office so we can arrange a meeting if necessary. We recommend that all conversations regarding an athlete follow the communication pyramid. Athletic Director will only get involved after the communication pyramid is followed

Nonnewaug High School Athletic Department When its not appropriate to contact a coach Not before, during or immediately after a contest. Not during a practice Not late at night.

Nonnewaug High School Athletic Department Concussion ManagementConcussion Management The CIAC Board of Control at their November 2013 meeting passed a new rule that requires all member schools to educate all student-athletes and their parents on concussions beginning July 1, The mandatory topics that must be covered include the following: the recognition of signs and symptoms of concussion the means of obtaining proper medical treatment for a person suspected of sustaining a concussion the nature and risks of a concussion, including the danger in continuing to engage in athletic activity after sustaining a concussion the proper procedures for allowing a student who has sustained a concussion to return to athletic activity current best practices in the prevention and treatment of concussion Further, CIAC also requires that all student-athletes and their parents must sign an informed consent form developed by the school that attests they are aware of the signs and symptoms of concussion and return-to-play requirements. This consent form will be completed through the Family ID registration process. Concussion Consent Form Concussion Consent Form
