How Does Genesis Point to Jesus?

God’s first promise to send a Savior (3:15) The animals God sacrificed to cover Adam and Eve’s sin and shame foreshadow Jesus’ death on Calvary (3:21)

The altar of sacrifice found in Genesis points us to the cross, where God Himself would make one, final, perfect Sacrifice for our sins. See Genesis 8:20, 12:7; 13:18; 35:3

Melchizedek is a “type” or “picture” of Christ showing Jesus as both King and Priest See Genesis 14:17 – 24; Psalm 110; Hebrews 7

The Sacrifice of Isaac – (Gen 22) The one only Son to be sacrificed God will provide God sends a ram/lamb to die in the place of Isaac God ultimately sacrifices his one and only son as an atonement for the sin of the world

Joseph Forgives His Brothers (Genesis 50:20)
