Presentation transcript:

Scientists group and classify things in our world – just like we can group shapes together. How do you think a scientist would say these things are alike?

A Scientist would say… There are many different things in the world. Some of them are living and some are nonliving.

Nonliving Nonliving things do not eat, move on their own, or grow. They do not have children.

Living Living things are plants, people or animals. Animals and people grow, eat, move on their own, and they have children.  Plants grow, make their own food, and can make new plants.

Living things must have.. Animals and people must have: water, air, food, shelter Plants must have: water, sun, soil, air and space to grow. Air Air

Can You Name Some… Living Things? Nonliving things?

Let’s Go Play a Game Together Let’s go play a game together and see what our score will be. Can we beat the computer? Yes we can! Let’s go! Living/Nonliving Game
