2 The RFS safeguards were developed bearing in mind: Participation by indigenous groups, local communities, forest users in the development of the project Revenue streams/benefits will be distributed in accordance with plans established by beneficiaries Rigorous participatory consultation requirements Transparent and enforceable benefit ‐ sharing plans Detailed informed, prior, written consent protocols FUNBIO experience on Safeguards at the standard level

THE TAPAJÓS –ARAPIUNS REDD+ PROJECT 7 FUNBIO experience REDD+ Extractive Reserve in the Rio Tapajós eastern Amazon – Size: h – Deforestation Rate: 650 h/year – 47 local communities PDD based on Rainforest Standard applicable to protected areas. Safeguards and FPIC based on donors policy (ICCO) and RFS protocols Tapajoara Association - main beneficiary and Association which chairs the Community Council Development of a Benefit-Sharing Fund to support the management plan RESEX
