Universal Design for Learning School-wide Math Response-to-Intervention Plan By Laura Clarke Special education teacher

Campbell Ridge Elementary School Campbell County, KY 700 students in grades preschool-5 33% free and reduced lunch 14% special education

Campbell County Schools district motto Whatever it takes.

Campbell Ridge Elementary School Campbell County, KY Staff of general education teachers 8 special education teachers

Math programs Everyday Math is general curriculum support curriculum includes Number Worlds, GMADE, Study Island, Everyday Math online games for some grades.

Math screening tools chosen by district AIMSweb tests are given to elementary schools given in fall, winter and spring for elementary schools, use

Math screening tools district also uses Everyday Math unit assessments as common assessments that are given in every school School is on a common planning calendar and pacing guide, so all units are taught across the district at the same time.

Math screening tools teachers have weekly planning meetings during their planning time. Every other meeting is attended by the principal/asst principal or staff developer also bi-monthly planning meetings that are 2 ½ hours long and involve long-range planning and data analysis.

AIMSweb Math probes K-1: name numbers 1-10, tell missing numbers in series of 3, tell largest number in series of two 2-5: solve grade-appropriate math problems in 2 minutes

Math screening tools district has developed spreadsheets for analysis – teachers score based on scores, students in the bottom 35% are placed in intervention groups

Math intervention students in the district are placed in Number Worlds Intervention groups district correlation of Everyday Math and Number Worlds and GMADE allows us to target skills in the order they are taught in Everyday Math

Math intervention Number Worlds groups are run by special education teachers some students are placed in Number Worlds directly, others get this intervention more indirectly through computer Number Worlds games

Math intervention other students receive weekly intervention based on missing skill sets – these groups are run by general and special education teachers together, and are administered to students with skills deficits

Math intervention data is analyzed weekly by the grade level team and students are moved in and out of intervention based on current data

Math intervention additional resources at the school – each grade has at least one classroom with a soundfield system (to help students with hearing impairments and other identified disabilities that benefit from sound amplification) One classroom in every grade has a smartboard

Math intervention We use unitedstreaming and online games to support learning Everyday math curriculum includes a strong game base and cyclicity that helps students build skills in a gradual progression
