P.L.A.Y. - Overview Prior Lake Athletics for Youth, serves the Prior Lake/Savage School District, to provide competitive yet fun athletic opportunities for kids. Our priority is safety, skills development, and the teaching of life lessons through sports. Our program promotes the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and integrity. We believe learning both success and failure through competition will benefit our future generations. 3

Pre-K T-Ball – Tuesday/Thursday & Sat AM through June 6th – Teams by random assignment – Batters hit off Tee first four games – Batters can hit off coach pitch beginning game #5 Batter gets only 3 pitches from coach; then must use tee Coach pitching from one knee, underhand – Each player bats; all players take one base (single) – Last batter hits “home run” – All players in field; No catcher – Coaches on field to help direct players 13

Kindergarten Coach Pitch - Tuesday/Thursday & Sat AM through June 6th – Teams by random assignment – Coach pitching from one knee, underhand – 5 pitches to hit; then hit off tee – Each player bats but “outs” send player to bench – Last batter hits “home run” – All players in field; no catcher – Coaches on field to help direct players 14

1 st Grade Coach Pitch – Monday/Wednesday & Sat AM through June 6th – Teams by random assignment – Coach pitching underhand OR overhand from a knee and – either way, must be on a flat plane – 7 pitches to hit – Each player bats but “outs” send player to bench – Last batter hits “home run” – 10 players in field on defense – Coaches on field to help direct players 15

Important Dates Week of May 11 th – Opening week for Pre-K – 3 rd Grade Picture Nights – Wednesday and Thursday, May 13 th and 14th Tuesday, July 1 st – Season end for Pre-K – 1 st Grade 16

Equipment Shoes – Tennis shoes OK for Pre-K – 1 st Cleats for 2 nd grade and up preferred (no metal spikes) Glove (11 inch glove typical) Helmet Must have NOCSAE stamp/approval Navy preferred Pants Shorts or sweats ok for Pre-K – 1 st Baseball pants required 2 nd grade and up – gray Bat 17
