Access Audit Aim of the audit is to : Identify if people with either a hearing impairment or who are profoundly deaf experience any difficulties when accessing any of the services provided by Lincolnshire community Health Services.

Access Audit Two methods are being used to review services: 1. Information from service managers is being sought. 2. Feedback from key stakeholders is being requested including: Deaf Lincs LINk Partnership Board Patients and the Public via the contact made with the PALS service.

Service Managers Questions being asked:  How familiar are staff with the typetalk system?  Are staff aware of how to access British Sign Language Translation?  Are hearing loops provided in the on site services?  Has the service received any service user experience feedback from people who are either profoundly deaf or who have a hearing impairment? And if so what were the key findings?

Feedback request from the Partnership Board Lincolnshire Community Health Services would appreciate all feedback from the Partnership Board Specific questions we would like to ask you:  Are you aware of any difficulties people have in contacting services by telephone?  Are you aware of any difficulties people have in gaining access to services where there is an intercom system?  Are you aware of any difficulties people have in respect of communication with health professionals.

Next steps Results of the audit will be reported to the following:  Lincolnshire Community Health Services Senior Management Committee  Commissioners of health services; NHS Lincolnshire.  Stakeholders who have participated. If the key findings identify areas of concern then individual services will establish a project group inviting service user represenatives to participate in partnership with staff members to address any issues.

Any questions? Lincolnshire Community Health services would like to thank the Partnership Board for allowing us to attend the Board meeting.
