To test whether or not someone has scoliosis.

Scoliosis is the curvature of the spine

We took the basic robot and added a light sensor at the front Then we made the program

The light sensor tells the robot if it is seeing black or white ground. The robot does not follow the line. When the robot says “Black” repeatedly, then it is on and seeing the line. If it says “White” repeatedly, then it is off the line and there is a curve in the spine.

It worked 0 out of 3 times. There was something wrong with the program that we couldn’t figure out,

Person bends over and at eye level, the doctor inspects the curvature of the spine. If there is too much curvature, a surgery involving fusing vertebrae together might be needed.

Backache or low-back pain Tired feeling in the spine after sitting or standing for a long time Uneven hips or shoulders (one shoulder may be higher than the other) Spine curves more to one side

One shoulder is higher than the other The pelvis is tilted Spinal curve measurement (scoliometer screening) MRI of the spine

If the case is severe, surgical correction may be necessary This involves curving vertebrae together to correct the curvature If a child who is still growing has a sleight curvature of the back, it could get worse as growth continues and could require treatment later on.
