Term The number or an Expression that are added in a sum.

Algebra part of math in which letters and other symbols are used to represent number or quantities.

Variable A letter that represents one a more numbers.

Sum to determine the variable in an equation.

Real Numbers In algebra, we work with the set of real numbers, which we can model using a number line.

Coefficient the numerical part of a variable

Base the number or expression that is used as a factor in a repeated multiplication.

Expression Is a group of terms that are separated by a + or – sign.

Exponent Says how many times to use the value in a multiplication problem.

Like Terms Like terms are terms whose variables are the same.
