PUT SMOKING BEHIND YOU! By Lucy and Madeleine Y4

What we have learnt about smoking !!  It is dangerous to smoke when you are pregnant.  It is difficult to give up smoking.  When you give up smoking for a year there is improvements in your health.  Smoking can give you serious illnesses.  More teenage girls smoke than boys.  Smoking is not allowed on school grounds.  Tar coats the inside of your lungs.  There are over 4000 chemicals in a single cigarette.  DID YOU KNOW………. Roughly 10 million adults smoke in the UK.

Shopping for cigarettes…  Shopkeepers only let children over the age of 18 buy cigarettes.  They need to have an ID with them.Shops only sell packets of cigarettes in a pack of 10.  When you go to a shop the cigarettes are always behind the counter.  You can’t buy a single cigarette !

What can happen if you smoke? If you smoke, you could have a heart attack. You could also get a stroke. It is also possible for you to get cancer. You may not already know that cigarettes are very dangerous to your lungs. They may make your breathing bad. Smoking makes your lungs go all blue and horrible.

What we have enjoyed doing? We have enjoyed learning about the dangers of smoking. We now understand how very dangerous it is to smoke. We have also liked doing the game to help us understand more about smoking. We have learnt a lot more of the problems of smoking and how it can effect peoples lives !

E.Cigarettes E cigarettes are electric cigarettes. We don’t know if e cigarettes are any better for you or not because they are quite new and scientists need to do more research. We will find out later on in life.

THE GAME We made a game which is just like connect 4 but you ask questions and if you get it right then you can put a counter somewhere on the board ! There is a picture of us playing the game on the board ! We used facts about smoking to create the questions and also the fact around the outside. You can only put a counter down if you get the question correct.
