©2011 Elsevier, Inc. Executive Summary This report provides detailed analysis of the heuristic evaluation testing used to evaluate the MealpayPlus website. The evaluation was performed using the heuristic evaluation method based on the heuristics provided by Jakob Nielsen. This method consists of evaluators comparing a predefined set of usability principles to an application or a website while attempting to complete a few representative system tasks. These rules are individually called “heuristics” and act as a lens for the evaluator. For this project, 10 heuristics offered by Jakob Nilesen were used focusing on the core functionalities of the MealpayPlus: creating a user account, registering kids, adding money to the account, paying activity fees, viewing payment activity, and contacting customer support. The goal of this evaluation was to identify major usability flaws within the MealpayPlus interface through the application of these 10 heuristics: 1. Visibility of system status 2. Match between system and the real world 3. User control and freedom 4. Consistency and standards 5. Error prevention 6. Recognition rather than recall 7. Flexibility and efficiency of use 8. Aesthetic and minimalist design 9. Help users recognize, diagnose, and recover from errors 10. Help and documentation The usability problems found from this evaluation are clustered into # areas and are ranked according to their severity and ease with which the problem can be solved. The # most severe and easiest to fix problems are: TBD
