Education Primary Agency: The State Board of Education Responsible for: administering state education laws and setting curriculum Oversee all schools districts in GA Other Agencies: University System of GA and Student Finance Commission

Human Services Primary Agency: Department of Human Resources Responsible for: Disease control, immunization, family planning, mental health care, substance abuse treatment and prevention, restaurant inspection Other Agencies: DFCS and TANF

Public Safety Primary Agency: Office of the Secretary of State Responsible for: Licenses and regulating many professions and occupations such as accountants, architects, cosmetologists, dentists, engineers, and pharmacists. Other Agencies: GEMA, GA State Patrol, GBI

Transportation Primary Agency: Department of Transportation Responsible for: Planning, building, maintaining state, U.S., and interstate highways in GA. Other Agencies: GA Ports Authority

General Government Primary Agency: Department of Administrative Services Responsible for: Providing computers, printing, purchasing, insurance, and motor vehicle services to other state agencies. Other Agencies: GA Building Authority

Economic Development Primary Agency: Department of Economic Development Responsible for: Promoting GA as a location for new industries

Natural Resources Primary Agency: Department of Natural Resources Responsible for: Water and Air protection, water resources management, hazardous waste management, land protection, and enforcement of various environmental protection laws. Other Agencies: Environmental Protection Division and State Forestry Commission
