When problems happen, like a fight with a friend, getting in trouble at home, or a rude wet suit salesperson, we all talk to ourselves about what just happened. Beliefs and Thoughts

“Man, I can’t believe the haircut I got. He practically scalped me! I’m almost bald! How can I go to school like this? I’m going to be laughed at and it’s going to take months for me hair to look good again!”

How one Feels doesn’t come out of the blue and isn’t determined by what happens. Instead, it is what you say to yourself that causes problems to arise and makes you feel mad or sad or afraid. Once you can become more aware of your thoughts, you can stop them from triggering the feelings. More control over your beliefs = more happiness
