Rocknes The Norwegian State has been cleared of liability The previous award of kroner 23 million (3 million euro) in compensation for incomplete sea charts has been overturned by Borgating district court.
Rocknes Blamed navigational errors in strong currents and poor visibility for the accident The charts had no significance in the sinking. The vessel had not been properly loaded and the cargo and ballast proportionswere not as they should have been to achieve the required stability If the stability had been correct the vessel would have still grounded but not capsized
