Identifying Gaps & Recommendations Indicator 1-3 Cairo, Egypt

Group –I Indicator -1 National Policy, programme and Co-ordination GAPS: There is no Policy There is no national plan There is no Funds BFC is not liked to other sectors RECOMMENDATION There should be a national policy. Submission to request approval from MOH on the policy & Include EBF ( 6 months ) There should be allocation of budgets to develop action plan There is need to improve the communication with other sectors ( meeting/ workshops)

Group –I Indicator -2 BFHI GAPS: BFHI is Inadequate There is gaps in training & assessment RECOMMENDATION There is need to develop plan ( commitment of D.M.) o Advocacy o Training o Assessment The training should be conducted according to 20 hrs course ( TOT 40 hrs ) Training to assess the BFHI evaluation to implementation

Group –I Indicator -Implementation of international code of marketing of breastmilk substitutes GAPS: Not all articles are included in the law Compliance of the law is not adequate No reporting systems No action for violators RECOMMENDATION Upgrade the law to include all the articles based on International code & WHA resolutions.
