Butterfly At first the butterflys wings are very small and its abdomen very large. The fluid gets pumped out to the wings.

Butterfly It takes several hours for the wings to dry and another day for them to become strong.

The top picture shows the male monarch. It has two black spots on its wings. Butterfly

If you look at a butterflys wings under a microscope you would see that the wing is covered with scales.

The butterfly has two eyes and two long feelers or antennae.

The butterfly uses its proboscis to suck up nectar from flowers.

Monarchs fly south for the winter. This is called migration.

The life cycle continues…
