Chapter 11

 Spirituality means becoming a fully alive, whole human being as we grow in our relationship with God  It helps us become more like Jesus Christ, as God’s love flows into our actions, our worship and prayer, and our relationships with others

 God loves us, each individually, no matter who we are or what we have done  Unconditional love – a love that has no conditions or limits placed on it

 We all have fears (of failure, rejection, lack of popularity, physical or emotional violence, pressures to do things that are harmful and wrong, being used or taken advantaged of, poverty or disaster  Jesus shows us to trust God – Trust God and believe that HE is there with you in all ways even in the worst situation

 Christian belief of suffering and death is that it can transform us into new life  We believe in the Resurrection LET GO AND LET GOD

 Prayers of Conversation – Sharing with God our lives, thoughts and feelings  Prayers of Petition – Asking God for help for ourselves or others  Prayers of Thanks and Praise – Expressing to God what we are grateful for  Prayers of Meditation – Focusing our attention on God and the mysteries of God with our thoughts, feelings and imagination  Formal Prayers – Praying in the special words provided by a particular religious tradition

 They say just what we need to say on many occasions when we may not be able to think of our own words  They unite people all over the world  Examples: The Lord’s Prayer, the Haily Mary, The Liturgy (Mass)
