Presentation transcript:

The climate in USA varies across different parts of the country. The western and southern parts of US are warmer. The eastern and northern parts of US have harsh winters with heavy snowfall but the summers are pleasant. The western/southern part has extremely hot summers and tolerable winters. USA can be divided into six climate regions: Northwest Pacific Mid/South Pacific Midwest Northeast Southeast Southwest

The southeast is warm to hot, humid with subtropical climate. Cities like Houston, New Orleans, Atlanta, and Charleston have average temperature 32 °C.In winter, daily temperatures in the southeast are much cooler from 10 °C to − 1 °C. In the southeast is the lots of rain.

The Midwest, northern Plains, Great Lakes, and New England regions have a humid continental climate. Here there are four strong seasons with warm to hot summers, cold and snowy winters, and rain in all seasons. Temperatures can be from -34°C to 38°C

The central plains and East Coast has a humid climate. Cities in this region have long hot summers that are humid and cold to cool winters with snowfall and sometimes heavy rainfall.

The Pacific Northwest has a oceanic climate. It is wet and cool in autumn, winter, and spring, dry in summer. Temperatures can rise to 38 °C.
