An Overview of the MU Libraries MU Libraries – Mission Statement In support of the teaching, research, service and economic development programs of this internationally distinguished university, the MU Libraries acquire, preserve and make accessible scholarly resources; enhance teaching and learning; facilitate discovery; and provide innovative services, to achieve a single overarching purpose: to anticipate and to serve the needs of our users. 3

An Overview of the MU Libraries  Ellis Library and seven other specialized libraries on campus  Health Sciences Library (serving Medical, Nursing, Health Professions)  Veterinary Medicine  Engineering  Journalism (including Missourian Newspaper Library)  Geology Library  Mathematical Sciences Library  University Archives  Staffing  48 librarians/archivists; 97 support staff; 193 students (52 FTE)  Collections  4M printed books and documents; 50K journal s (in print and online)  Digital repository of MU scholarship (MOspace) with 20K items available  Annual Expenditures 4
