TEAM 2: John Kumuyi, Chris Regan, Kristi Hey, John Hey

The Pocantico River Watershed Conservancy was created as an umbrella not-for-profit organization to organize and host research, in collaboration with Pace University (whose Pleasantville campus is in the watershed) and others, to undertake and pool knowledge from their studies. The Conservancy seeks to orchestrate and stimulate place-based ecological and policy analysis around the environment of a watershed. What is the Pocantico River Watershed Conservancy ?

Summary of project specifications Create a website for Pocantico River Watershed Conservancy

Create links to real time data sources / external links

Create a searchable knowledge database prototype

Create a Support Us Page with ability to collect donations

Addressing changes in customer requirements  We created a initial prototype for the customer to see, from there we then made changes based on the customer’s requirements and specification.  Every week, the team leader talks to the customers to see if there are changes/new information or updates that need to be made on the site.  After the necessary changes have been outlined by the customer, we then assign who will be making content updates and design changes.

Design decisions & related trade-offs In the website platform design process, we decided to go with the Google platform for the following reasons; Easy accessibility to all team members for content updates. Customer can see the progress made in the real time. Site design can be easily updated TRADE OFFS  Dreamweaver vs. Google sites Updates to the Dreamweaver would be made locally and no access would be available to the team and customer  Web/HTML The web builder allows to create gadgets to implement certain requirements for the customer.

Prototype completed  We were able to create a website for the Pocantico River Watershed Conservancy.  All content updates has been created with the necessary links, tabs and sub tabs.  Searchable database with search and upload function prototype.  Criteria by (author, subject, keyword/tag, etc.)
