Science, Technology, and Society There are numerous civil rights movements at any given time in the U.S. and world. This unit will focus only on the Black Civil Rights Movement.

American Heritage (Strand 1) Time Continuity Change

Review the USDA web site. Have a class discussion about quotas. Write a short paper on a struggle you have experienced as a student. Compare and contrast it to the civil rights struggles. Research another country’s civil rights movement and policies. Make a map of the country and write the policies under the map.

Write a letter to your local city commissions asking that they not allow the KKK to demonstrate in your city. Explain how you could be involved in a program sponsored by the NAACP.

Include its apartheid policies and information on famous civil rights activists.
