Don't fool yourself into believing that smoking isn’t harmful! Made by Bri Booker

Teen smokers face many health risks including: Reduced lung function and growth rate. Poor athletic performance. Increased shortness of breath. Weak bones. Increased cramping and heavier periods. Early menopause. Increased prevalence of gastric ulcers. Cancer of the lungs, mouth, bladder, liver and colon to name a few. Bad Breath

According to the Surgeon's General, Teenagers who smoke were Three times more likely to use alcohol. Eight times are likely to smoke marijuana. And 22 times more likely to use Cocaine

A person who starts smoking at age 13 will have a more difficult time quitting, has more health-related problems and probably will die earlier than a person who begins to smoke at age 21

Each day, about 4,000 kids in the U.S. try their first cigarette, and another 1,000 kids under 18 become regular, daily smokers. That’s 464,000 new teen smokers in this country each year. (SAMHSA, 2006)

A lot of teens start smoking because they believe it makes them seem more mature, or because they believe that it helps them relax. Unfortunately these teens don't realize that smoking is addictive, so rather than relaxing they become slaves to their cigarettes. If you don't smoke, don't start and you will save yourself: The energy of running for a new pack every time you have a craving. A future full of ill health. A drawer full of beauty products to hide the adverse affects of smoking. Huge dry cleaning bills to get the stink of smoke out of your clothes. Many nights out in the cold once the smoking ban comes into force Approximately £500 per year depending on your weekly habit

Every day, 3,000 kids become addicted to tobacco products. Almost 1,000 of them will die prematurely from tobacco- related disease. Eighty-five percent of underage smokers purchase the three most heavily advertised Brands: Marlboro, Newport, or Camel.

Effects of smoking No matter what a teen is smoking, there are some serious effects. Asthma and an increased risk of cancer can result from any smoking that is done. Smoking can cause respiratory problems, as well as increase the chance of blood clot. Some types of teen smoking can result in the spread of ulcers and tuberculosis.

Female college students are more likely to smoke daily than male college students 43.9% of young adults who are college age, but do not attend college, smoke. 25.7% of college students smoke. 15% of college students smoke daily

22.3% of high school students smoke 8.1% of middle school students smoke. In just one year, cigarettes leave about 31,000 kids fatherless In just one year, cigarettes leave about 12,000 kids motherless. That's 33 mothers a day.

Don’ t be dumb and smoke your not cool if you do. And it does is shorten your life and cause you a lot of pain in the long run
