 A woman is assaulted or beaten every 9 seconds in the US  Nationally, 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men have experienced severe physical violence by an intimate partner  876 homicides due to domestic violence identified from 1998 to 2008 in Oklahoma  Men who as children witnessed their parents’ domestic violence were twice as likely to abuse their own wives than sons of nonviolent parents
